Here am I

I have this sticker on my laptop... It has this cute and colorful map of the world on it with the words, "Here am I, Send me." on it. It's quoting the Bible verse Isaiah 6:8. I see it everyday but I started thinking about it... "Here am I, Send me." It's a great quote and a great verse, but honestly would I actually be willing to go somewhere else? Like I love traveling, actually, I absolutely adore it, but would I be willing to leave my home, my family and my friends because God called me to? I mean, I would love to think I would, but to be honest, I would really struggle with that and I'm not sure I could.... But I'm not sure what His plans are for me, but they may include that.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jesus has a plan for my life. I don't know what it is.. sometimes it feels like different things. I don't know if, for my future, He wants me to be a mother or a missionary; A speaker or a scientist; A teacher or a travel agent; A leader in the Church or a lawyer.... There are so many things I could be. And even more things that I won't be.

God calls each and every one of us to different things. He may call me to be a blogger, and He may call you to be a teacher and He may call someone else to be a missionary. But He doesn't call us all to be the same thing! Thank goodness because then we would all be clones! God gave each of us to our own unique calling.

We can't be jealous or try and do someone else calling because we may still succeed but it may not be what's most natural or what we should have done.

God has a unique calling for everyone of us. I don't know what yours is and I certainly don't know what mine is yet, but I do know that we have to have an attitude of "Here am I, Send me." We have to be willing to listen to what the Lord has called us to do and have a spirit of willingness to follow through and be sent to do what He calls us to do.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." Psalm 139:13

God created us from the very beginning. He knew the exact moment we would be born. He knows the number of hairs on our heads. He knows exactly what we are meant to do and what we would be best at. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Have a "Here am I" attitude this week. Be willing and open to receive what God may call you to. Pray a little bit about your calling.Think about what God wants you to do. You don't have to know what He wants you to do forever, but what is He calling you to do right now?

Go live fearless!
