Everything is meaningless!

Utterly meaningless!! EVERYTHING is meaningless! (Eccles. 1:2b) Having friends is meaningless because it only ends in pain. School is meaningless because I only fail. Work is meaningless because I'm still drowning in financial struggle. My life is purposeless, utterly meaningless.

Those words are like daggers to the heart because each of us knows what the meaningless moments feel like.

Cheer up! You aren't perfect. You aren't expected to be perfect. Your worth, your meaning doesn't' come from your perfection but Christ perfection within you. Do yourself a favor, embrace who Christ has made you to be. You are more than your past and you need not worry about tomorrow, today is your gift, open the present.

If you feel like you aren't worth fighting for, you are, and people may constantly let you down but Jesus sees you with all your flaws and says you are worth fighting for! (1Cor. 15:56-57)

If you feel unloved or unlovable, slap that lie in the face cause the devil is a punk and he's really good at making lies seem true. (1 John 4:19)

If you feel meaningless, know it is okay to not be okay. Take a deep breath, cry like crazy, and just hold tight to your Savoir. If you put all you are in this world, it will let you down. Your life has meaning, you are more than a conqueror! (Romans 8)

Ready for some crazy truth, crack open that good ol' book of Job 28:13 "Man does not comprehend its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living." Well, that's depressing, we can't comprehend or find worth. Read a little further, it's explained that worth is found in wisdom and that the Lord is wisdom. There is both your answer and your challenge. Focus on the Lord, and worth will abound in your life. Easier said than done, but don't worry, just chase Christ, He wants you more than you could comprehend.

As I walked into 2018, I was holding on to my past failures and heartbreak drowning myself in sorrow. I've convinced myself for months that I won't ever be worthy of being loved because of the hurt rooted in my past that haunts my heart. For the past month, I've been consumed by the worst case scenarios. Holding myself back from the will God has placed on my life. There is a purpose for your pain but don't dwell in the pain, even through pain we are called to live in the joy of the Lord.

You have purpose! "I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me." (Ps. 57:2)

You are worthy! "But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'" (1 Samuel 16:4)

You are loved! Live fearlessly!
