Finding Joy

Do you ever just have those weeks? Those weeks where everything seems to go wrong? Those weeks where you just can’t seem to catch up or catch your breath? Those weeks where you’re so behind? Those weeks when all you want to do is curl up and watch netflix, although that’s the least productive thing possible?
Yeah, me too.
Sometimes it’s SO hard to see the positive in things. SO hard to see the joys in the little things. SO hard to make it through… but with God all things are possible!
Can I say, I am SO thankful that God is in control and I’m not. SO thankful that He has the grand plan for my life and not me. Sometimes, I don’t even understand what he’s trying to teach me or trying to do in my life through it all. But that thought that He is in control is so comforting.
In the midst of crazy life, finding joy can be one of the hardest things to do. How can you find joy when you feel like you’re drowning in emotion and busyness? Just take a moment and breathe. Step back and think about how amazing life is. It really is amazing.
Sometimes joy can be found in the smallest of things, whether it's a cup of coffee on a cold day, a beautiful sunset, a friend's smile, a warm car on a cold day, a good hair day, fun socks, your favorite tv show, a kind comment on your instagram picture, french fries and so many more little things.
Even in the hardest or even in the most difficult moments, there is joy in it all. Sometimes it’s just a little harder to find…
Psalm 19:8 says, “ The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.”
God has amazing plans. His commands are supposed to bring us joy. Sometimes they’re not as clear as it seems but… they are meant to bring joy to us. God has the greatest joy ever. He desperately wants to share that joy with us. He wants us to be filled with the joy that He has. We just have to choose joy.
If you want some songs to bring joy to your life, these are my absolute go to favorites:
Joy - Jonny Diaz
Old Church Choir - Zach Williams
The River - Jordan Feliz
Check ‘em out!
So go out this week, and be filled with joy, find comfort in the little things, and know the peace and joy that God wants for you no matter what kind of week you’re having!
